Frequently Asked Questions

Are there any additonal travel expenses?

For any weddding or event 100 miles or more from my home office in Dingwall, will incur travel expenses at 45p per mile for the entire journey.  Weddings further afield like Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen require accomodation the night before and is budgeted at £80-£100.

Do you edit our photographs?

Yes.   I take pride in my editing style and each and every image supplied to you is carefully selected and hand edited one at time.  Additional retouching requests outwith my standard retouch that requires more time can be provided, but is chargable.

Do we get to keep our photographs?

Yes. The final sets of high resolution digital photographs are presented to you in a password protected online gallery where you can view and download your wedding photgoraphs with a license to make copies and prints.  Copyright ownerships remains with Andy Taylor Photography and they cannot be used commercially.

Can we supply you with a list of photographs?

I always ask for a formal family group shot list or around 8-10 family groups that are taken after the ceremony. However,  please note I do not require a list of ‘photographs’ as it is counterproductive to my natural approach as the majority of my time would be taken up going through that list and so many real time moments would be missed.  Only your essentially ‘must have’ group photographs are required.

How many photographs do we receive?

The actual number of images supplied really depends on many factors but generally speaking you can expect around 400 images for a full day coverage.  Smaller midweek weddings requiring less time would receive fewer photographs.

We have to cancel our wedding. Can we have our deposit back?

I’m afraid not. The deposit guarantees I will hold the date exclusively for you and once you’ve signed the booking form I turn away all other inquiries.

What is the turn around time after our wedding?

I aim to have your final set of photographs edited, online and posted out to you around 4-6 weeks after your wedding.  If you purchase an album the first draft design will be ready then also.  If you want to buy an album after your wedding, the first draft design will be ready to view 4 weeks after payment has been received.  It is then up to you to get back to me with your requested design changes.  Once the design has been finalised turn around time for album deliver is 4-6 weeks.

We are not sure which package we'd like. Can we confirm this at a later date?

Yes. At the booking stage there is a completed booking form and £300 deposit required to secure me as your photographer.  Which package you’d like can be confirmed in the lead up to you wedding.

Can you hold our date?

I’m afraid not.  I can only reserve your date when a completed booking form and deposit has been paid.  To be fair to everyone I work on a first come first served basis.

How do we book you as our photographer?

The first port of call would be to email me through the contact page on my website and request my price guide. Ideally we would meet to discuss your wedding plans and ideas. If a get-together isn’t possible then I always recommend we have chat over the phone or via Skype. After that it’s a simple case filling out a booking form and returning it to me with a £300 deposit. When I have received both I’ll email you a booking confirmation and a proposed schedule for photography as per our discussion.

What is the payment schedule?

After paying the £300 deposit the remaining balance is due two weeks before your wedding.
