I am an Inverness based wedding photographer and have been photographing weddings since 2007. I have a relaxed, mainly observe and capture approach, with a bit of creative direction thrown in from time to time.

MY APPROACH

The people, settings, the laughter, and the love. My job is to capture it all, without fuss and without making myself the centre of attention. For the most part, my approach is hands-off, capturing moments as they happen in real time. These seemingly simple, yet sometimes powerful storytelling images are at the heart of what I do. Traditional parts of the day, like cutting the cake and signing the register, are all photograph as they happen, without any direction.

Portraits, couple and group photographs is when I step in and offer some guidance and subtle positioning, however, key for me is working quickly. Yes, I want to work in the best light and cleanest background, but I never over pose, or micro adjust every hand and head position. I would much rather keep it simple and straightforward, allowing you to relax and enjoy your day.

When it comes to the couple photographs, everything is kept fun and light-hearted. Sometimes with energy and animation, and other times with a soft, quiet, and romantic feel. Either way I always aim to capture a moment before, during or after any setup. This is way everything is kept natural as possible.

With simple, easy positioning, and an emphasis on beautiful lighting and capturing the in-between moments, I aim to create honest, natural photographs you’ll love.
