What is Wild North Photography?

Wild North is the dedicated home of family photography by Andy Taylor.
Created as a separate space from his wedding work, Wild North focuses purely on relaxed outdoor sessions shaped by natural light, beautiful Scottish landscapes and genuine moments.

Andy is an Inverness-based photographer with over 15 years’ experience and hundreds of weddings and family sessions behind him. His approach is calm and easy-going, allowing children to be themselves and families to simply enjoy time together.

Throughout the year, Wild North offers a small number of Seasonal Mini Sessions.

What are mini sessions?

Mini Sessions are relaxed outdoor shoots, released seasonally in limited numbers at carefully chosen Highland locations.

Each session lasts around 15 minutes — long enough to create a beautiful collection of natural, genuine photographs, while keeping the experience simple and enjoyable.

They are ideal for families, particularly with younger children, where a shorter session allows space for real moments without things feeling forced.

Who are mini sessions for?

Mini Sessions are for individual families wanting relaxed, natural photographs in an outdoor setting.

You might prefer photos just of the children, or you may want to jump in yourselves too.

Planning cousin photos with another family? Simply book two consecutive Mini Sessions to allow time for some photographs together.

If you’re bringing a baby who isn’t sitting independently yet, they’ll stay safely cuddled in someone’s arms.

Spring Mini Session

14th MARCH 2026

The next Spring Mini Session will take place between 10am and 2pm on Saturday 14th March at Evanton Woods.

Evanton Woods offers a beautiful natural setting, with open woodland paths and soft light. Perfect for relaxed outdoor family photographs.

Sessions run throughout the morning and early afternoon and are allocated on a first-come basis.

Session Details & Pricing

A £20 booking fee secures your 15-minute mini session.

Around 4–5 days later, your online gallery will land in your inbox, ready for you to browse at home with a cuppa. You can expect a selection of around 25-35 carefully edited images to choose from.

From there, you’re free to select digital images, prints, framed pieces, canvases, calendars or albums.

There’s no minimum spend and absolutely no pressure to buy anything extra — simply pick the images you love.

Most families choose to invest between £100 and £200 once they’ve seen their favourites.

QUESTIONS?

Digital images are £18 each, with savings available when selecting multiple images. Prints start from £7 and frames from £45. Full gallery downloads are available for £195.

There’s no minimum spend and no obligation to purchase anything beyond the booking fee — you simply choose what you love.

If the weather is particularly wet or windy, the session will be rescheduled. If it’s just typical light Scottish drizzle, we will still go ahead. I’ll keep an eye on the forecast and confirm closer to the time.

Children have their own plans sometimes. If we genuinely aren’t able to capture any usable photographs because your child doesn’t want to take part, I’ll refund your booking fee. The aim is for this to be enjoyable, not stressful.

Mini sessions are intended for one household at a time. If you’re hoping for cousin photographs with another family, simply book consecutive sessions and we can include a few together in between.

Your session is secured once the £20 booking fee has been paid and the booking form completed. Sessions are booked on a first-come basis.

Your private online gallery will be delivered within a few days of your session. From there, you can choose your images and any products you’d like to order.

Mini sessions run to a schedule, but I’ll always try to accommodate you if possible. Your session will still need to finish at the allocated time, so arriving late may reduce your shooting time. Please aim to arrive five minutes early if you can.

If you’re unable to attend, please let me know as soon as possible. Mini sessions run to a tight schedule and your time slot can’t usually be filled at short notice, so the £20 booking fee is non-refundable in the case of a no-show.
